57 Million Americans Have Surgery Every Year
And 25% of Americans live alone.
As many of you may know, I am in the process of completing a "how to" book designed to help anyone going through the surgical process, this includes caregivers and advocates. It will be available in the next 30 days (give or take a day), so keep an eye peeled. It has been an incredible experience and boy, do I have a ton of great stuff to share!

Fifty-seven million Americans are having some kind of surgery or surgical procedure every year. Nearly 35 million out-patient surgeries and 22 million in-patient surgeries.
More than 27.4% of Americans (roughly 32 million) live alone according to a 2013 U.S. Census Bureau report.
Those are big numbers. They indicate to me that there are a lot of people who could benefit from some help and support when facing a medical crisis. I'll hurry up with the book. In the meantime, here's something to get you started:
And check back. This blog is about all things surgery related – preparation through recovery. If you have any questions, send them along.
To your vibrant health!
